As a lifelong Rhode Islander, I’ve looked at The Towers in Narragansett from the beach my entire life wondering what it must be like inside until not long ago when I had the chance to photograph a wedding there for the first time. If you need the TL;DR, it is a gorgeous, oceanfront venue with panoramic views of the sea and a beautifully warm interior. It was also the perfect place for Marielle and Chad to hold their wedding celebration since they met while in college here in Rhode Island. Photographing a Narragansett Towers Wedding was high on my list because of how iconic the venue is and when Marielle first reached out to me, I was so excited.
We started the day nearby at a house in Matunuck where everyone was getting ready before heading to The Towers for the ceremony. Fortunately, it was a beautiful October day that felt more like August and the ceremony was outside on the terrace overlooking the water. After a bubble outro, a Del’s Lemonade truck arrived for cocktail hour and the party really began. Marielle, Chad, and I spent about 10 minutes across the street by the water taking a few portraits of the two of them before we returned to the cocktail hour party. One of my favorite parts of the day was catching all of the interactions between friends and family outside during golden hour. The transition to the main banquet room upstairs was seamless as it grew darker and the rest of the night was filled with toasts, dinner, and dancing. Looking back on this day, I forget that it was technically an autumn wedding and not summer since it was such a beautifully warm day.
