what to expect

Hiring a documentary wedding photographer is a decision to capture your wedding day candidly and authentically in a way that feels representative of you both as a couple. It also represents a choice that you've made to actually be present on your wedding day, free from the pull of a photographer who is going to prioritize their wants and focus on what matters: you and everyone you've invited to celebrate, real moments, and genuine emotion.

I believe deeply in an observational approach to photographing weddings, but I also acknowledge that there are so many options out there for couples when it comes to wedding photography. During our initial call, I'll listen to what you're envisioning for your day and let you know how I think my approach can best align with your plans. At all times, I want every couple I work with to feel fully themselves without any expectation or pressure from me to perform in some way for a photograph on their wedding day.

WEDDING PRICING

Wedding photography coverage starts at $5,500. Most couples can expect to invest $6,000 to $8,000 for full-day coverage. This includes:

- Pre-wedding calls
- Film and digital Photography
- 6+ hrs to extended, multi-day coverage
- 2nd shooter, if needed
- Preview within 72hrs
- Personalized Online Gallery
- Professional Printing

I've been doing this for over a decade now, and I don't think a one-size-fits-all pricing structure serves anyone. A big part of why I love photographing weddings is the fact that each one is unique. I provide every couple with a custom proposal after we've had time to talk. If you're feeling like you need more info or have questions, reach out, and I'll be happy to send a copy of my wedding guide, which has more about me and my approach to documenting weddings.

FAQ

This question is first in my FAQ because, in my opinion, it is the most important. I’m honored to have the opportunity to document love in every form. No matter who you are or who you love, your story matters to me. I’m committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and joyful space for every couple I work with.

01. Are you inclusive of LGBTQ+ Couples?

Yes! While I am based in New England, I travel worldwide to photograph weddings and elopements. Travel fees and expenses are assessed on an individual basis outside of my 150 mile range from Providence or Boston. This covers most of New England and the Hudson Valley, so if you're looking to celebrate somewhere in this region, there typically will not be any fee charged for the travel.

02. Will you TRAVEL TO X?

Yes. I am fully insured through Hiscox Insurance and if your venue requires a COI, I am happy to send it along.

03. ARE YOU INSURED?

Every wedding and elopement is different and sometimes the pace of the day comes into play with the final amount of delivered images. For each hour of coverage, you can expect to receive 70-100 edited (always by me) photos.

04. HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE RECEIVE?

Heck yes. I have been using film in my process as a wedding photographer since I started in 2011. Every full-day wedding package includes some amount of film coverage and depending on what you're looking for it can range from a roll of highlights on 35mm throughout the day to a film-first approach with 35mm and 120mm coverage. That being said, I also shoot digitally with the same approach in terms of style, editing, and intentionality. If you love the idea of having a record of your day in the physical world, you're in the right place. Check out my blog post for more on why I shoot film.

05. DO YOU SHOOT FILM?

All wedding and elopement galleries are delivered within 6-8 weeks from the event date. I always send a small preview gallery of images within 72hrs. Engagement and couples sessions are delivered within 4 weeks from our shoot day.

06. WHEN WILL WE Get OUR PHOTOS?

To lock in your wedding or elopement day I require a 20% retainer on the total package amount. From that point on, you've hired me as your photographer and ensured that your day will be documented exactly how you envisioned it. The final balance on all wedding and elopements is due 14 days prior to the date.

07. What's needed to book?

08. Are we the right fit?

I intentionally take on a limited number of weddings each year to make sure I am giving my time to couples I fully align with. My goal is to make sure you feel a connection to my process and approach. If you've made it this far, you probably get the idea: real people being present on their wedding days and having a really good time.
