I had the privilege of photographing Katherine and Ethan’s day at the Lakehouse Wedding venue in Halifax, MA this past August. We first met up one year earlier on the Cape when I took their engagement photos at Marconi Beach and I had been looking forward to their wedding day for so long. The Lakehouse is a newly renovated wedding venue from Sapphire Event Group and I knew just from the photos I’d seen from other recent weddings it was going to be beautiful, but I didn’t realize just how stunning the interiors and property would be. As a photographer, it was an absolute dream to shoot in—I loved everything from the warm, natural tones of the furnishings to the massive windows looking out over to the lake.

We started the afternoon with a beautiful ketubah signing followed by Ethan and Katherine’s first look on the dock. Although it was peak summer, we lucked out with one of the nicest days of the season that felt like the best possible conditions anyone could ask for. The ceremony was held outside on the lawn and guests were able to mingle between the inside and outside spaces during cocktail hour which made for some really beautiful candid moments as people chatted, played games, and enjoyed the lake. Dinner and toasts happened just as golden hour arrived and the light inside the reception area was unlike anything I’ve seen in an indoor venue. After dinner, the dancing kicked off and Atlantic Shake kept things bustling until the very last dance.
